Glazed Ham

A friend and I were discussing cooking for holidays. We were lamenting the amount of time we had to be in the kitchen when we would rather be relaxing and enjoying the day. Both of us ended up making a ham last Christmas. I told her I always cook mine in the slow-cooker. It makes a lovely moist meal with only a few minutes of prep time for me. Ham is so easy and I love having leftovers!  It is great during the summer too because you don’t have to heat the house up by using the oven.  Continue reading »

Scalloped Potatoes and Ham

The kids and I really liked this meal. Truth be told, my dear husband did not. However, as he does not enjoy ham or scalloped potatoes, I don’t think is opinion of this recipe counts 🙂 This meal is a nice change from the typical chicken or beef recipes and is really easy to make. It only takes a total of 4 1/2 hours to bake in the slow cooker, so it is a nice option for those days you want a slow cooked meal, but didn’t have time to get it in started in the morning.
