There are several versions of this recipe out there. This one is pretty simple and tastes great! It’s a nice way to use wheat without having to have a wheat grinder. I’ve taught a few food storage classes and used this recipe as a sample. Everyone has enjoyed them and were surprised they are whole wheat. These freeze well too.
Wheat Blender Pancakes

Ingredients
- 1 ¼ C. water
- 1 C. whole wheat kernels
- ¼ C. powdered milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp honey or sugar
- ¼ to ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp baking powder
Instructions
- In blender, mix water, wheat kernels, and dry milk on high for 3 minutes. (Don’t cheat on the 3 minutes or you will have crunchies.)
- Add egg, oil, honey and salt. Blend for 20 seconds.
- Add baking powder. Pulse 3 times, just enough to mix. Mixture should foam up and get very light.
- Cook immediately on a hot nonstick griddle.
