This recipe comes from my friend Barbara Ostergaard who credits it to Suzanne Leonhardt and Sister Murry. Our family fell in love with it on our first visit to their house and my son has requested it each time since (which has been quite often lately – Thanks Barb!) She serves it over mixed greens with candied pecans, sliced fresh strawberries and feta cheese! Wow! Yum!
- ¼ cup red wine vinegar
- 1-1/2 cups fresh mashed strawberries (puree)
- ¼ tsp. onion powder
- ¾ cup sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- Blend vinegar, strawberries, onion powder, sugar and salt in blender well! Slowly add vegetable oil while blending to mix oil in well.
