Glazed Ham

A friend and I were discussing cooking for holidays. We were lamenting the amount of time we had to be in the kitchen when we would rather be relaxing and enjoying the day. Both of us ended up making a ham last Christmas. I told her I always cook mine in the slow-cooker. It makes a lovely moist meal with only a few minutes of prep time for me. Ham is so easy and I love having leftovers!  It is great during the summer too because you don’t have to heat the house up by using the oven.

Glazed Ham
Recipe type: Main Dish
Cuisine: Pork
  • Fully Cooked Spiral Cut Ham
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • 6 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 8 Tbsp honey
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped (optional)
  1. Place ham in a 6 quart slow cooker that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. (This makes the slow cooker so much easier to clean when you are done.)
  2. Put lid on and cook on low for 2-3 hours or until heated through.
  3. About 30 minutes before you wish to serve the ham, mix together the glaze and spread over ham.
  4. Cover and cook for remaining time.
  1. The time will depend on the size of ham you use. The lid may not go all the way down, but it will as the ham cooks and the slices loosen up a bit.
