Oh my, these are good! I wanted to make a treat using some of my blueberries so I tweaked my cinnamon roll recipe and came up with this lovely dessert. The streusel and blueberry filling is a nice flavor and texture combination. These are now my son’s favorite dessert. He requested it for his Birthday instead of cake!
Blueberry Streusel Rolls with Lemon Glaze

Ingredients
Roll Dough
- 1 cup very warm water
- 1 Tbsp active dry yeast
- ¼ cup powdered milk
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup shortening
- 2¾ – 3¾ cup flour
- 2 cups blueberries
Streusel
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped almonds
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 6 Tbsp butter, melted
Lemon Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 3 – 5 Tbsp milk
Instructions
Rolls
- Mix together water, yeast, powdered milk, sugar, salt, egg and shortening.
- Slowly add flour ½ cup at a time. This will be a soft dough, so only add flour until you can work with it.
- Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead by hand until smooth (about 5 minutes) or You can knead in a mixer for 5 min.
- Place dough in a large greased bowl; cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size (about an hour).
- Punch down and roll out the dough into a rectangle (about 15x9”).
Streusel
- Mix streusel ingredients together.
- Spread streusel and blueberries over the top leaving 1 inch on one long side.
- Roll up tightly, beginning at wide side.
- Seal well by pinching edges of roll together.
- Cut roll into about 1” slices.
- Place in a greased 9x13 pan.
- Cover and let rise until the dough has doubled in size (about 35-40 min).
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.
- Let cool for 5 minutes.
Lemon Glaze
- Mix powdered sugar, lemon juice together.
- Add milk 1 Tbsp at a time until desired consistency.
- Drizzle warm rolls with Lemon Glaze.
