I’m pretty excited to share this recipe with you. I’ve been toying with it for a while and am quite happy with the results. The beauty of this recipe is that you make it in your slow cooker. I’ve tried making granola before and had problems with burning it in the oven. It is possible to burn it this way too, but it is much more forgiving. I’ve had several taste testers and they have all loved it! I even packaged some up and shipped it to my daughter at college

German Pancakes

My mom used to make this all the time for us when we were kids, but we called the “Hootinany Pancakes”. I had forgotten about them until my son Jeffrey came home from school asking for me to make them. Another kid had it for lunch and he wanted to try it. I made them this morning. Jeffrey peaked in the oven and said “Whoa mom! They are growing out of the pan!” I assured him that it was supposed to be that way. It made me laugh. Continue reading »

Waffles with Blueberry Sauce

You get a two for one with this recipe. This is our standard waffle recipe and one for a very yummy blueberry sauce. You can make them separately of course. I usually make a double batch and freeze the leftover waffles. We take them out and warm them in the toaster for an easy breakfast or snack. The Blueberry sauce would be great over ice cream too. My son even used it as jelly on his sandwich.  Just recently, my husband bought some Amish blueberry jelly.  He said he likes the flavor of this recipe better.Smile Continue reading »

Wheat Blender Pancakes

There are several versions of this recipe out there. This one is pretty simple and tastes great! It’s a nice way to use wheat without having to have a wheat grinder.
