We have an tiered egress window in our basement.  It lets a lot of light into my craft area, but hasn’t been very pretty to look at.  I decided to fix it up with a whimsical landscape.
It is hard to get a good overall picture in a small space, so this post has lots of close up pictures.  Just keep on scrolling!
I started by adding in some potting soil to bring the ground levels up to where I wanted them and to add some good nutrients for my new plants.  I then started with the bottom and worked my way up.  Here is a pictorial tour of my garden!

A little Spring Update with Garden Tiles

Spring has FINALLY arrived here in Michigan.  It seems like we had the longest winter ever.  Yesterday we decided to get out and tackle an area of the yard that has been neglected.  The side-yard.

Our side-yard is visible from the front yard and is a bit ugly.

  This area does not get much water or sun and ground is pretty sandy.  Last year we pulled all the weeds, added some compost and planted a few hostas.  This year I wanted to do something more.  The landscaping here needs to be very low maintenance.  While wandering through the nursery at Lowes, I came across a new product.
